European Fly Fishing Association

Sepp Fuchs

Sepp Fuchs was the first person Günter Feuerstein contacted to start the former FFF-Europe fly casting certification programme. This happened in Montana/USA in 1995. Since then Sepp was always an active member and helped to make FFF-Europe and later EFFA popular in Europe.

Sepp Fuchs is well known on the continent but especially within the flyfishing community in the Netherlands. He was in the beginning one of a few fly fishers in the Spijkenisse area who started up the Flyfishingclub Spijkenisse and the Dutch VNV. Within a short time he became a well known fly caster in the Netherlands. He was always present at the Flyfair and Visma for casting demonstrations to promote fly fishing. From the beginning of EFFA NL he was a member of the board of the EFFA in the Netherlands until the end of 2013. He is still a board member from the Flyfishingclub Voorne Putten. At this club he developed a casting course like a golfcourse with several difficult “holes”. The hole is a ring where the fly must be placed! He was also former advisory board member of the Oostvoornse Lake commission. He gives flyfishing-flycasting and flytying presentations in the Netherlands at flyfishing clubs. Sepp invented “training the roll-cast on the lawn”. He is member of the World Vision Team and is promoting the sport now under the name Modern Flycasting together with Bas de Bruin.
